Heber City and Midway Real Estate

Several news articles have noted that Heber City  is among the fastest growing cities in the nation.  Having lived here for over a decade myself, I can certainly see why all those people are buying real estate and moving here.  Very simply, it’s a great place to live!  Here are just a few of the things I love about the Heber Valley and Wasatch County:

  • Access to outdoor recreation – Whether you’re interested in fishing, boating, hiking, hunting, camping, off road vehicles, or snowmobiling, Wasatch County offers it all. Heber City is located just minutes from three world class fishing and boating destinations: Jordanelle, Strawberry, and Deer Creek reservoirs. Majestic Mount Timpanogos keeps watch over the valley beckoning the hiker for adventure.  There are countless camping spots, and there are plenty of places to ride four wheelers and off road vehicles.
  • Clean Mountain Air – There is no smog in the Heber Valley!  On days when Salt Lake City is unbearable, we enjoy blue skies and clean air in the Heber Valley.
  • Beautiful Scenery –  The beautiful pictures on our home page are just a few of the beautiful scenes we see every day in Heber City and Midway.  A big thank you to Brent Haddock for the photos.

  • Short commute –  Many people are surprised to find that it’s actually a shorter commute from Heber City to Orem than it is from many places in Utah County.  It’s also a shorter commute to Salt Lake City from Midway than it is from South Jordan many days.
  • Airport Access –  The Salt Lake City International Airport is less than an hour away on most days.  If you own a plane Heber City has its own airport.  (I’ll let you in on a little local secret:  Park City doesn’t even have its own airport).
  • World class skiing – Deer Valley’s Gondola lift is located in Wasatch County.  Park City Mountain Resort – the largest ski resort in the United States is also located just minutes away.  Sundance Ski resort is also just minutes down Provo Canyon.
  • Golf – There are so many beautiful courses to choose from (both public and private) including Wasatch Mountain State Park (my  personal favorite), Soldier Hollow, Crater Springs (Homestead), Red Ledges, Tuhaye, and Victory Ranch.

  • Nice People –  Of course this point is entirely subjective, but I’ve lived all over Utah including small towns and the big cities.  I’ve enjoyed living everywhere, but I must say that the people in Heber City and Midway are some of the nicest down-to-earth genuine people I’ve ever met.  Maybe people here are so nice because they have so many reasons to be happy.  🙂
  • Dedicated Sports Programs – From the community Wasatch County Parks and Recreation programs to the State High School Championship winning soccer team or the Olympic Gold medal producing high school wrestling program people in Wasatch County take sports seriously and offer youth plenty of opportunities to develop and grow.
  • Property Values are up – According to UtahRealEstate.com, as of October, 2015 the year over year median price per square foot of real estate in Wasatch County was up 12.3%.
